FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How can therapy help?
Therapy can help by providing a safe and confidential space for you to explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It can assist with developing coping strategies, improving communication skills, increasing self-awareness, and addressing past traumas or current stressors. Therapy can also support personal growth and help you achieve your goals.
How long will I need to participate in therapy before I feel better?
The length of time it takes to feel better in therapy can vary depending on several factors, including the nature of your concerns, the frequency and consistency of therapy sessions, your commitment to the process, and your overall goals for therapy. While some people may experience significant improvements in a few sessions, others may require more time and effort to achieve their desired outcomes. Ultimately, the duration of therapy will be tailored to your specific needs and progress, and we will work with you to determine the best course of action.
What can I expect to happen in a therapy session?
In a therapy session, you can expect a safe and supportive environment where you have the chance to talk and be heard about your concerns. We will work together to set goals, develop strategies, and monitor progress. You may be provided tools to utilize outside the therapeutic setting to reinforce what you learn in therapy.
May I include family members in my therapy sessions?
At times, it may be appropriate to include family members in your therapy session, but this is ultimately up to you and your therapist to decide together based on your unique needs and goals. In many cases, including family members in therapy can be beneficial for improving communication, building stronger relationships, and addressing shared issues. However, there may be situations where individual therapy is more appropriate or where certain family members may not be able or willing to participate in therapy. It's important to have an open and honest discussion with your therapist beforehand about your preferences and concerns to determine the best course of action for your situation.
